[西餐] Queen's Cafe in Richmond

I've been there on Saturday.  The food is OK.  But, the waitresses seem quite new to serve the customers.  As I stepped in at 6:00pm, they told me most tables are reserved.  Then, one waitress interrupted and asked me whether I could leave by 8:00pm.  I ate until 8 and saw most are reserved at that time and still had a few left.  Strange arrangement?  Anyway, most customers are middle-aged!

I tho Queen's is just a HK Style cafe but "fine-dine want to be"...

My friend once wanted to have a try when we were thinking where to eat. I said "no" since I don't feel like to have a try (for no reason, just gust feeling).

I  think they are just like running a family business.

Totally agree.  They are not flexible, too noisy, sense of fitting the middle-aged people.  And, the singers are really old.  The dinner bread is worse.

Oh, addition to the service:

Eg: We had to move the table oursleves but not a word of thank you.
Eg: Dinner bread didn't come until we asked for them.

If the management don't pay attention to the qualification of their employees or train them well, I think I can expect that kind of "low quality" in their food too coz the management thinks so-so is very acceptable.

I would not normally be so picky. I state my negativity towards them only becoz they try to convey a "high-class" or "fancy" image with awarding winning foods but not living up to it.

I felt kind of bad coz No body was paying attention to the singing but instead, tried to talk over it and didn't really applaud. I think it has to do with the fact that it was filled with Chinese customers.

I've been there. The food is not bad for the price. Though I ordered duck and the meat was tough. Our desserts, consisted of cream brulee and soffle had water in it. (that's usually the result of poor cooking process - somewhereintime can verify that)

However, I feel that the services can have room for improvement. The waiters are inexperienced.
Eg: Asking if I was finished eating with her hand extended to grab my plate while I was eating and still food left on it.

(not sure if this is policy or service related)
My friend wanted to switch the lobster bisque to mushroom soup. The waitress said no. We found it them to be very unflexible. What if my friend is alergic to lobster? Although my friend said she will still pay for the mushroom soup at the lobster bisque's price, the answer is still NO.

Really don't know how to do business lor. Really just forcing customer to go with a lower priced set dinner to avoid a soup. Honestly, IMO, if they are more flexible, it's win win for everyone. Customer happy, restaurant saves food cost.

IMO, I'd rather pay more to go to Le Crocodile . Although not too expensive but the food and service is only so so. I'd rather either pay more for the best or might as well go for hk style tea cafe if I don't want to spend the money.

environment wise, IMO, really tooo tooo noisy. With their live singing mixed with the noise (normally what you hear when yum cha) isn't very enjoyable.
