[日本料理] Looking for... mid-end Japanese restaurants...
When it comes to Japanese restaurants, they are usually All You Can Eat or super high end. However, many of us (including me) have way passed the all-you-can-eat-crap stage. And for the same price, we should really be able to find some decent quality of sushi & sashimi... Any recommendation?
I have failed to find one that I consider mid-end. The only one I can think of is Togo Sushi @ Oakridge Centre. Their fish are surprisingly fresh, and the sushi rice are surprisingly decent. However, they close when the mall closes...
What's considered low-end? Here are some guidelines... When a piece of their California Roll is as big as a bowl of rice (think Samurai), or when the salmon sashimi is tasteless or fishy with mushy texture (I refer those as 'soap'), or when their sushi rice is warm or falling apart.
What's considered high-end? Think Tojo's, Octopus Garden, that are expensive but they deserve to be expensive.
I hate those that are actually low to mid-end, and pretend to be high-end. Those deserve to be boycotted! If you know any, please post up and warn other LYK's.
Thanks!
