Depends on what your thing is. If it is a duty-free item, then it's just PST & GST. If it is subjected to duty, then you gotta pay that as well.

Shipping anything from the US into Canada via any method is not gonna be cheap. In this case, I'd just have the item shipped to Point Roberts and go pick it up on a Saturday or something. Can buy some cheap gas while I'm down there as well.

Yea, picking up there = I will shop around there and get some cheap gas too.

You can either hide and lie, then no tax.

Or be honest and show them invoice and, depends on that custom's mood, and how hot / handsome you are, you'll be taxed or not taxed.

Thanks... how is shipping to Point Roberts work? Do I have to pay service fees AND Package Receiving Fees (ie. $3.xx per package received for you) ?

One additional thing with shipping USPS is, you need to sign an authorization form to have the agent (shipping depot) receive the item on your behalf before the item is received.

For parcels shipped within US, UPS ground can sometimes be cheaper than USPS, and it is almost always faster too.

If you do ship to Point Roberts, and the shipment worth $195 ..try to get another friend to go with you...then more likely no tax.

Lik, how/ where do I get that authorization form?

Fibbi, I never go down there on my own, the more people the better. Each time I shop in the States, I never get taxed when I come back on the same day... I guess I am just lucky. So, do I have to inform "The Letter Carrier" at Point Roberts before I ship my stuff to there?
