VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Four employees had to be sent to hospital Saturday afternoon after getting overcome by carbon monoxide fumes in an East Vancouver fish processing plant.

Vancouver Fire Battalion Chief John Hudson says it looks as though poor ventilation was to blame. "We believe we traced the source down to the propane-powered forklifts that they were operating in the building at the time," he explains.

The warehouse, which processes sardines for bait, is located on Pandora St. at Commercial Drive. The building has since been aired out, and declared safe.
