I'm a noob to cardmaking.
Saw this idea on the net about recycling the invitation and making it into a wedding card for the couple.
The initial idea is... to stick with the colour theme, be creative with the limited material, and of coz to be economical on the cardmaker's part too. Sounds great. So I did it.
I used the paper to punch out/emboss flowers and birds and hearts. Distressed the edges of certain parts.
The card looks very different from the invitation, but still recognizable.
But is it a good idea though? Or would the couple expect ppl to keep their invitations? Their invitation is basically a flat card. Beautiful cardstock though. Would be quite a waste to just let it sit in my drawer or the recycling bin later on, so I made a card out of it.
Will post pics of both the invitation and card later.
Thanks... |
