tonight around 10pm I went to X記火鍋 on No.3 Rd for 夜茶
they advertise in the newspaper for $2.50 for all dim sum
anyways we went there, ordered about 5 dim sum items along with one fried noodle dish
in about 10 minutes, the first 2 items arrived
5 minutes later the fried noodle arrives too
then we waited
and waited and waited and waited for about 30 minutes
we asked about 3 different waiters as well as the captain about the 3 other dim sum dishes that never arrived
the captain comes back and tells us that they don't have one of the items..fine, but at least tell us instead of having us wait for it
but what about the other 2 items? she said she will go and check
in the meantime, we got hungry again and we ordered 5 more items from the dim sum list
another half hour has passed and we're still missing 2 items from the first time we ordered (now an hour ago) as well as the 5 new items
suddenly they gave us the bill...and tried to charge us for all the items that we never got..
we were missing 6 out of 10 items on the list!
we told them we never asked for the bill..and especially since we were missing 60% of our food!
just because we've been sitting there waiting for an hour doesn't mean we're finish eating!
eventually my mom went to the front desk and talked to the boss..within 5 minutes, we got all 6 items
but there was never any apologies
and they even charged us for tea! they never even asked us what kind of tea we wanted and the tea tasted like water!
so it took them about 1.5hours to get us 10 items....actually it took them 1 hour to get the missing item from the first time we ordered....note, we didn't order anything weird of picky
eventually, we finally got all the items and finished our meal at 11:45

never going back...
other tables were also being served quite badly...this couple waited for 20 minutes to get their bill
they just sat there and asked the waiters and no one went to check on the progress
no apologies, no sorries, nothing
what kind of service is this?
there was another couple in the restaurant, they were both caucasian
they ordered around the same time as us..and they ordered about 8 dim sum items
the waiters and waitresses laughed with them saying they will never finish..etc etc..joking around
in about 15 minutes, ALL of their 8 dim sums arrived
in the same time they got all their dishes, we had only gotten 2
note: some of the dishes they had ordered were the same as ours...
eventually the couple finished all the dishes and got their bill right away when they asked for it
Thank you for sharing. We will not take chance to "suffer". Just to let all LYK know the event we have too.
We went to "rincx" on 12th in Vancouver, having the similar problem.
Fried shrimp waton served without sweet and sour sauce. Server came back with other dim sum for next table and Captain came back with answer that chef is making freash sauce. Sauce came 5 minutes after but the temperature is warm only not hot.
