[中餐館] 最好食嘅河粉:歐榮記

牛什河* is da best, but most of you will find it too salty I bet.  Most of you can't take the MSG.   Their chilly oil is very strong and flavorful, and custom made, I like..

Their quality of 河粉 in soup is da best I found in Vancouver.  They are a little irregular in shape 'cause I heard they cut them themselves.  But the softness and smoothness of it is hard to beat.  I wish I can find out what brand they use...

Most Chinese restaurant use the same type of 河粉 for frying and in soup.  That just sucks 'cause 河粉 for frying is much too thick and solid for soup...

I think 牛什 and the pho noodle might be a good match.. wonder why no restaurants offer that.

1.) 歐榮記
2.) 金豪 (use 河粉 for frying, not good in soup.  Soup not strong enough to drive the 河粉, 米粉 is fine though)

For chilly oil, I prefer Fong Ming's. I like their squid ball fan too!
Don't go to Au wing kee often due to I find the place smell of washroom and service is really bad. However, i like their curry beef brisket on rice though.

Ya, their smell of washroom is very bad sometimes... Somewhereintime! Complain them!

Fong Ming's chilly oil used to suck, but I think they improved it last year or so and switched to XO chilly oil.  Not really the Chiu-style, but yes, they taste good, I agree.

Well, in case there is no perfection, I prefer so-so food without toilet smell rather than good food with toilet smell.

i actually think "boo hung cha kee"'s flat rice noodle in soup is good.
I don't usually like flat rice noodle at all (prefer vermicelli) but their clear broth beef brisket with flat rice noodle was pretty good.
