Anyone know why the fuel price was down last night? it's only 111, unbelievably cheap....

er..I don't think this has anything to do with 金融 unless you are discussing crude which is down today.

but gas at the pump is not in direct proportion to crude prices

Supposedly, gas inventory in the US is at an all time high compared to the last couple of years. Also, because of the on-going recession / slow economy in the US, people were cutting back on their summer road trip vacations.

just to name a few other factors, exchange rate, refinery cost, transportation cost, operating cost, real demand vs. futures trading, government subsidy/taxes...

of course gas would be cheaper if the spot rate was lower, but they don't move in lockstep daily or even weekly

Nah, the gas price in Metro Vancouver is among the most expensive in Canada,
check the gas buddy and other websites, our regional price is about 10 cents
higher than other part of the province.
I seen 96 cents/L on Thursday
