You are right, but they deserve to be called Japs for all their faults, like Nanjing massacre, killing millions of Chinese during WWII, comfort ladies, biochemical experiments in North Eastern China, forced military money usage in Hong Kong etc. The Japs need to apologize.

    Whether they deserved to be called is another topic. In daily context if we just want to use abbreviation, Jap is not a proper word.
