So much fun stuff is happening in Vancouver during the month of February! Here’s a list to pick and choose from:
Feb 2 – The Flame:Storytelling at the Cottage Bistro on Main St. Starts at 7 p.m. Cost is by donation.
Feb 3 – Green Couch Sessions Party: Showcasing some of the featured musicians on Green Couch Sessions. Show starts at 8pm at The Cobalt on Main St. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Feb 3 – There will be a free screening of the new Vencent Moon + Efterklang film at W2 Storyeum in downtown from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Seating is limited.
Feb 1-6 – Dine Out Vancouveris still on until Feb. 6! I was at the Boathouse Restaurant in Kitsilano last week for Dine Out and I recommend the Louisiana Lobster Pot.
Feb 6 – Vancouver Chinese New Year Parade 2011 starts at Millennium Gate on Pender St. in Chinatown from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Feb 3-13 – Vancouver LunarFest 2011: Beautifully crafted lanterns will be on displayed outside the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Feb 12 – Celebrations for the One-Year Anniversary of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will start! Granville Street at Robson will be open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with performances from buskers, street hockey and the LunerFest Lantern Parade. Wear red and white and bring your hockey stick. And the Olympic Cauldron in Jack Poole Plaza will be re-lit at 4 p.m.
Feb 14 – On Valentines Day there will be a screening of The Princess Bride at the Rio Theatre, featuring acoustic performances from Said the Whale and Jasper Sloan Yip. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance.
Feb 19 – The Fringe Festival in February? It’s true! The pick of the Fringe 2010’s, “Lucky 9”will be showing one night only at Performance Works on Granville Island. Tickets are $15 at the door. Show starts at 8 p.m.
Feb 26 – Celebrate Canada- Olympic Glory Relived:A street party with over 20,000 people confirmed on facebook to relive the Olympic spirit and celebrate Canada taking home the gold. On Granville Street, starting at 9 p.m.
