中新网西昌7月27日电 (张利文 孙自法)北京时间27日5时44分，中国在西昌卫星发射中心用“长征三号甲”运载火箭，将第九颗北斗导航卫星成功送入太空预定转移轨道，这是中国北斗导航系统组网的第四颗倾斜地球同步轨道卫星。

　　当天清晨，西昌卫星发射中心发射场周边雷电交加、暴雨如注，就在两次雷电间隙，“长征三号甲”点火腾空，宛如一条火龙在暴雨雷电中直刺苍穹。

　　第九颗北斗导航卫星成功发射，标志着中国北斗区域卫星导航系统建设又迈出坚实一步。专家称，目前，中国北斗区域卫星导航系统的基本系统已建设完成，正在抓紧开展星地联调和测试评估工作，经初步测试系统运行良好，将于今年年底前为中国及周边大部分地区初步提供连续无源定位、导航和授时以及短报文通信服务，满足交通运输、渔业、林业、气象、电信、水利、测绘等行业以及大众用户的应用需求。

　　按照北斗卫星导航系统“三步走”发展战略，2012年年底前，中国还将陆续发射多颗组网导航卫星，不断提升系统服务性能，扩大覆盖区域，完成北斗区域卫星导航系统建设。2020年左右，将建成由30余颗卫星组成的北斗全球卫星导航系统，提供覆盖全球的高精度、高可靠的定位、导航和授时服务。

　　本次发射的北斗导航卫星及其运载火箭分别由中国航天科技集团公司所属中国空间技术研究院和中国运载火箭技术研究院研制，这也是中国“长征”系列运载火箭第141次航天飞行。

I am indeed very optimistic of China's space program, I believe China will be the first real player in the success of the commercialization of space exploration. NASA on the other hand is only an intelligence seeking entity in space, fueled by curiosity and knowledge seeking scientists. I believe in less than 20 years China will bring socialism with Chinese characteristics in space and profit huge from conning citizens on earth.

not too sure about getting into a rocket made by china when they commercialize space exploration............especially after the train incident lol

With the current size of the space organization, should be okay (providing that they keep up the quality)... At least to the current moment, we all know that long march series is very reliable and suitable for near earth orbit exploration. In addition, the policy is following reasonable pace/schedule of development (not like high speed rail - hugh hat on a small skull ).
