You have to do a detailed research on diamond before buying any engagement ring, also ensure the ring come with a certificate. Generally speaking GIA cert is most popular/reliable?



Set a realistic budget and poke around.  I am not sure if Augustan Goldsmiths in Lougheed mall still doing the big sales. They were closing down and have some amazing deal there. I was shock on what I seen there... but you have to really know what you want when you shop... I compare the prices, their price was cheaper than blue nile and brilliant earth for similar engagement ring... slighly for 1K?

    Whether 閃 or not ....because of the cutting...
I would say brand name stuff ...general quality is better...

but of course...comes with a big price difference...

Maybe just me...if same price...I would still prefer brand name ...

ya, brand name is really nice, but the cost are much higher

i want to buy from HK too, since there is no tax in HK.
But afraid will get tax once enter Canada

Tiffany 閃啲因為佢哋啲石靚，同牌子無關係，其實溫哥華好多jeweller 都可以訂做戒指，有次仲同我講笑話我要咩牌子款都得，寫埋Tiffany, Cartier 都得！

做多啲research 係好多sales 都講到曉飛，實情係點真係要做功課，例如近幾年好多retail好鐘意吹噓話 princess cut 貴啲好啲，因為 complex，但其實 at whole sale level，Round Brilliant Cut 係貴過princess cut 20％！

當然個人喜好最重要，但唔好信哂佢哋講嘅野！試過聽過有 sales 同我講粒石有藍光好靚，我上網查同問我daddy (佢做依行好多年），其實石應該係 none to faint先靚，不過只要唔係 strong blue, 都無咩所謂，除非你落 club, 係啲白光燈下先會見到啲藍光，否則平時唔會覺！

Color D-F 為最好，我試過將H同F拍埋，真係睇到H 係黃啲，cut 低於 very good cut, 都唔會太閃！

好多人都會被誤導覺得粒石要大，但其實個setting 做得好，只有你自己先知粒石有幾大，我見過0.9 同 0.70+，但0.9 個粒啲石唔靚，擺埋一齊，真係睇唔出size 嘅分別！所以係價錢方面做取捨，可以去諗要粒細少少但有火好過。 仲有啲sales 會 係咁同你講SI1係好架，但除非你粒石係D-G，excellent cut, 咁SIclass 就唔會太重要，否則個cut 唔靚，又要係SI 或以下，粒石會無咁閃！

另外係網上買係平啲，不過如果係個 band 係有碎石，而甩鬼咗，warranty 係唔包， 所以即使係買咗，定期都要去 local jeweler 做 inspection/tighten 個band, 大概係$50一次 inspection.

同埋近期興買loose diamond 去求婚，因為怕未來老婆唔鐘意個setting, 咁可以用 loose diamond 去求，只後拍住拖去揀setting 都OK，話哂戴一世！
