Menya Japanese Noodle, 401 West Broadway...
Me and my friend both ordered the ramen set for $10.25, included 1 ramen,1 rice ball, and 4 pieces of gyoza...the gyoza was okay to me,but the rice ball,i don't like it at all,i saw many people didn't finish it either...and the ramen, they only have 2 choices there, either Nagahama ramen, or Tonkotsu Miso ramen...only 2 tiny pieces of pork there..and the broth was kinda salty..the portion is small.....um...overall,i think the downtown one is way better...
I tried it twice and so far the quality is very consistent. I like the miso tonkatsu there coz they have a very rich soup base and you can order extra noodles after you finish the first one.
Benkei's soup base is chicken, so kind of hard to compare. I like benkei coz they have soft boiled egg!

I don't think Benkei's ramen is only chicken based.
shoyu (consommé style with chicken stock), Shio (pork bones and meat-based) and miso (miso, shoyu and shio combo).
Motomachi Shokudo (sister restaurant of Kintaro) serves with only chicken-based broths.
I just tried and I agree I like the noodles at Kintaro better but I like the soup for the Nagahama Ramen. It is creamy yet not heavy at all. Only if they can put more noodles in it....... The miso one is too salty but not Nagahama one.
G-men has Tonkotsu ramen too wonder how comparable they are...
