any recommendation for laminate floor shops in richmond?

I have looked at more than 10 laminate floor shops in richmond. Most of the prices are quite similar. I don't know which one is good. has anyone hired contractors to install laminate floor before? How much do they usually charge with materials?

I am looking for darker colour laminate floor with under 1.69 sq/ft.

I had mine done from a store on Bridgeport road...they used to be quite popular for their carpet installation. In fact, we used this company 15 years ago for our house, then used it last year for 2 apartments...so they're pretty reliable.

I'm not exactly sure how much mine costs per sq/ft...i THINK it was $1.79 - $1.99/sq ft.. Also, the ones they have are the wider-planks one...not the skinny planks they sell at Ikea for $0.99/sq ft. Actually a lot of people who has seen my floors think it is real hardwood! They have many colours to choose from but I think the best colour is the dark maple.

Do I need to remove all the furniture for the workers to install or they will move while doing the installation?

We went to A2 on Birdgeport road for cheap.  If you go order the flooring yourself, make sure you bargain.  If you already have a contractor that you trust, ask him to order it for you since they have contractor price.

My friend (who is a handyman) helped me to install the floor, so my price can't be used for reference.  But please don't go cheap on contractor.  I saw bad installation in friend's places by unskillful contractor.  If your friend refer you a contractor that they used, go look at their floor first.  Place to look is at the door jam since it is the hardest part of floor installment.  There shouldn't be any gap between door frame and floor board in good installation, and they shouldn't need to use divider when crossing a room.  Good luck.

Ya, i purchased it at A2 too... got the floor done from their contractors about 3 weeks ago. good service and quick. I am happy now..

there's a new laminate floor place at kingsway and rupert, vancouver, the price is very reasonable too

make sure you get the 8mm one cos it is more durable than anything thinner.
