You got to meet lots of vendors in these wedding shows that you normally need to make appointment and go to see them. And they give out coupon as well. Maybe you can see a wedding dress fashion show too?
Useful or not...depends la...but it's fun to go anyway...
if you're having a chinese/honger style of wedding/banquet, the wedding fair ain't useful. since you end up going back to the chinese vendors anyways, why waste money? go for fun is fine, get into the spirit.
i went to 2 consecutive wedding fairs for 2 years before i got married. i went first time, to gather info when i got "engaged", so i can estimate the cost of things, & ideas on my western style banquet. i went the 2nd time to decide on the vendors, get ideas, compare etc etc...
I am going to have a church ceremony and Chinese banquet so I guess it's "honger style"... but I think I still need info about limo and chocolate fountain and maybe deco/ flowers... I think I will get the invitations and favors from HK as it's much cheaper there...
Do they give you big coupons (like 50% off)? I don't even how much they are supposed to cost...
if you're having honger style, then you mind as well go through other people's recommendations for chinese companies. everything costs less with chinese companies. however, if you have expectations like me, & know exactly how you want things, then go to western vendors. for example... if you do very simple floral, & go to chinese florist, you'll be able to walk out for 幾舊水。i had a wedding planner to help me (sorry to say, but unreliable friends x picky-ness + i'm non-church person), so i needed a wedding planner to run the show that i pretty much wrote the script for. for my all my floral, it costed me like $1000.
at the wedding fair, not much coupons. most of the time you get price list & contact info, a bit of samples. & that's about it. i would say little or no coupons at all.
invitations & favors...i got them in hk. so much cheaper. to give you an idea of how picky & how precise i was.... i designed & drew my invitation on the spot @ the printer in hk because i did not want honger style of invitations. honger style = either:
- precious moment in pastel color (the so-call "western style of invitation ga la)
- red chinese invitation
- gold invitation
i even had the context written out...& chose the ribbon, & specified the color in specific pantone on the spot. since i had western plated banquet, i had my RSVP card context all designed & ready for the printers.
besides, if you're Christian, then you should ask your fellow church buddies...i'm sure they're all experienced & have good recommendation. i don't see the point of you wasting like $70 on the ticket to go into wedding fair with your fiance lor...
I think the ticket is like $20 per person. And actually you can try out your luck see if you can win any of the grand prizes (worth thousands!)! Hehehe.....
