Is it possible to fix Windows xp without reinstalling software?

There is something wrong with Windows xp. Is it possible to reinstall Windows xp without reinstalling all the other software? This will take a lot of time.

it depends on what issue comes up. If is just a minor issue, can be fix without reinstall.
But if it is something relate of registry or system32 .... I think is better for reinstall window..

I know how hard to reinstall...... Coz i need to re-install every 6 months, Coz regarding of my work, I need to install and test many software and program.. Sometimes it crash my window and I cannot fix it. So just re-install.

But one thing to mention, if you are expert of programmer, U can fix without re-install however I am not that expert..

You can try to "fix" windows by running the Repair option with the Installation CD.

Ever since Vista/XP crashed on me, I test all new software through VMWare, saves lots of time.

The problem is that when you do this:

Start menu -> All Programs -> pick any folder -> right click on that folder and select open/explore

Normally the folder will open up. But it does not. I don't know why but it started to act that way.

I would like to install VMWare, but there are so many versions for download at their website. Which version should be downloaded for a PC?

I use VMWare workstation. It wasn't that expensive for 1 user.

If you don't want to pay, VMWare Server is free.

MS Virtual PC is free too.

But do you have to run it on Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003?
