Fresh air ... I used to believe in that argument until I see what's going on in Hastings street in Downtown Vancouver.
If you don't have money, you live in a high-crime, dirty, crappy neighborhood. ...
If I don't have $, I can still choose to live further away from city center. e.g. Langley, Abbortsford.
Or I can just rent basement in Richmond for example. That would cost less. There are lots of choices besides Hastings.
If working 7 years still on same position or same pay, it's more like your problem.
Fresh air means clean air, nothing to do with crime rate.
In HK everywhere is full of smog. It doens't make me sick right away but it's sure not good for health.
Of course I (I'm sure other LYKs as well) don't know how your "world" works.
If you see no chances of promotion or pay increase, would you consider moving to another company? Or go back to study and "upgrade" yourself? Or study something else where there are better career chances?

Honestly, who is biased when one read a survey result in a forum, don't believe the poll and start calling people liar. And if you really understand what a survey is (after googling), what so surprise you from the poll result?? Especially it is only such a small sampling side of 92 LYK so far.
What's the point of arguing when you know he is just trolling to get attention? just forget his replies guys.
FYI, I don't work in Canada, I work in Japan, besides, we are just talking about the average salary of LYK, not Canadian, so maybe you should think again when you start calling people liars. I am a PR and lingual specialist who do translations and magazine editorial work in Tokyo. If you are unable to make that much Toppy, well, too bad, that just means you are not good enough to even argue with us, since we are obviously smarter than you because we are able to make more and get better employers. The numbers reflect a very very obvious distinction between you and us.
