It is being marketed as an award winning beef noodle. An award from the president is a big deal and the food is itself is of good quality. That creates a prestige value and a halo effect when you go there. It is not like eating at any food court stall.

have you tried it yet? If not, how do you know it's good quality?  So far, I haven't heard it's amazingly tasted; or the chef used special way to create the noodle or soup base.

Just because president likes it, it's high class? humor me.

o下? 我食左但好大婉喔, 同一般果D0甘上下size啦, 講真出面好多地方都賣$8-9一碗牛肉麵架啦, 的確要排隊就好煩, 但個湯底又實在比average 既好喔, 0甘貴返2蚊響果度我又唔覺得0甘離譜啦.

Honestly.. I think the quality is average..!

They have 3 types of beef in the dlx version of the noodle.

1> 牛腩 - is average, not soft enough
2> Thin Cut - taste Ok
3> Thin slide (steak like), quite a bit thicker than the thin cut, outside is torch bured (I think).  Probably the best amoung the 3 types.

The noodle itself is good, and above average, but it's not like you can't find this anywhere else.

The soup, it's very good, but too much oil IMHO.

Overall, I don't think that's worth the lineup, the price can be cheaper, but it's ok if you can afford it.

I was in Vancouver for 2 weeks during Christmas - New Year.  The beef noodle place I went back twice is 三味, good price, good soup, great beef, and they have a green onion/beef type pancake is awesome.

I just said it makes some people feel like high class. You may not feel it, but those who queued up think differently. It is just marketing technique.

Well...people queue up at that place because it's "new"... not necessary because it's "high class" or not....
There were huge line up @ Beard Papa during opening as well...you call that "high class" too?

Anyway, I like the noodle there but for that price tag I won't go often. If it's like $7-$8 I will go more often.
