Have you even followed Toyota's stuck accelerator recall fiasco? Under the US gov's watch, it has been concluded that the stuck accelerator issues were due to driver error, not an inherent design flaw. The original Lexus carpet getting stuck was an issue, and the gas pedal had a defect where in certain cases when the gas pedal has been worn, returning to the neutral position will be slow. But primarily, the problem was not a design flaw.
