( My wife's friend will pick it up from us .. surprise, lots of people are into vacuum! I think that is a best gift to buy for wife .. lol )

Do I need this kind of vacuum for hardwood or laminate floors?  I don't really need a powerful vacuum cuz I don't have any carpet or pets.  Anyone can give me some reasons to buy a dyson?
