I guess you have to think of the business...  it is a busy time right now, and with the economy the way it is, you really can't blame them wanting to make more money THIS week while they still can....

At the restaurant I used to work at, we don't like parents with babies.. they want a HUGE table, they sit there for hours, ordeing next to nothing. Can't be ALLLL babies, so will probably used up like 5000000 napkins, some hot water jugs for milk, bring your own baby food in little jars and want bowls and spoons and things for the kid to bang with and play with, and kids running around, screaming disturbing other people while the waiters has to watch out for the running kid and hot water and dishes. And the clean up... You should see the disaster some parents leave the table and floor....  Seriously... I have seen kids drawing on the wall, broke everything including curtains, BUMBED into a whole bowl of soup and has to be rushed to a hospital... They are a nightmare.

First of all, it was a Thursday, not Friday or weekend.  It's not even close to Chinese new year yet, so shouldn't be busy.  That day, we didn't see any line up at the front entrance.

Also, we all brought our own hot water thermo, milk, towel.  Our babies are all under 6 months old, so won't running around and didn't scream.  If they don't welcome kids, they can just tell us at the time we reserve the table.  Then, we can just go somewhere else.

We don't want huge table, but no choice.  If we have 7 adults, 7 babies, what kind of table should we have?  Where we can put our babies?  Between our legs?  So, moms with kids can't dine out?

Yes, when they said last call, it's close to 2pm.  It's okay to let us know last call.  But it is very unprofessional when the server told us we are not welcome next time.

Anyway, all 7 of us will not go back again!

i think this restaurant provides better service to those who order more dishes, or bigger group as in more adults.

last time i was there, they were really really slow. i think they missed our order.  ...

I agreed. I went there years ago with 3 other friends. So we only ordered regular dim sum and at a small table... we felt ... ignored... and not welcome.
Recently I went twice with bigger group and the feeling was very different. Much better service.

yeah, u did the right thing
but on the other side, please expect similar situation MAY happen again if u and your friends, babies go to other restaurants.....well, business is business, as some other LYK said, its bad, but think, with that many babies and moms, the servers may need to do many more extra works for your babies
