I'm in the industry highly related / involved graphic designer.
First, don't listen to other people say..  SingTao?  BS la.  It will make your graphic skill worser and worser.  You will only learn print media graphic design, and ends up doing layout and non-exciting ad design.

If you are still  in school or in the course of changing job, while waiting for a full time, go to getafreelancer.com  or some other freelance website.  Try looking at other people's job and try bidding jobs there.  you will gain a lot of experience, and improve your skill.

Craigslist is not bad to start looking for job as well.

I agree with rainbow-davie.

Only idiots would suggest singtao and other chinese places.  It is like stuck working in Chinatown--no future.
