西館唔同唐館，西館一般會問得有禮貌小小 ( how much would you like to tip 之類) ,  雖然都係打開口牌唔好.   唐館班飯燦頭好誇張呀，真系扑街到黑面嫌少，指住個銀盤要你比多D。 佢老味.....

通常好既本地餐廳，主動要求貼士真係比較小見，我咁耐試過兩次，兩次都無俾貼士(我有個朋友只會俾一仙，當然，無帶家眷，同埋，走得好快…)

北美佬以前是唔識收tips 的，就算高級餐廳都只係5% to 10% 比盡,  呢個percentage 係U of Michigan 同 Read ...

That's not true. Maybe you are new here. In North America, for western restaurants, 15-20% tips is the normal.

Tipping is a western thing, hopefully the westerners will not spread this bad habit to China.

When I visited mainland China, I realized tips is not needed in restaurants, hotels or taking a taxi.

我講錯第一句，我修正，北美佬是會tipping 的。北美大餐廳是一向是有tipping 傳統。 但是如果說傳統北美佬比15-20% tips,  在下就無法子認同。最高級酒店，wedding banquet 或者會，但是一般家庭一家四口食飯，在下所見是近十年才開始。

在下唔知道自己算不算 "new here " ，可能you've been here longer than I have。
在下1979 年(唔係1997) 在Vancouver 機場油站入油， 比tips 兩個油站仔，佢哋追住比返D 錢我。情況同日本仔一樣。 當時加拿大shopping mall 裡面的廁所，仍然是乾淨到可以在裡面開餐。你在瘋葉時間+經驗長過/多過在下，應該好清楚我講咩。

強國同胞大舉殺入前，即大約1997 之前，van/tor 餐館，亦從未見過開口問人囉tips。 或者你見過，但是在下真系未見過。 十年後今時今日， 直頭開口要你比多D.

在下其實唔介意比tips，亦唔介意你比100% ，關我Q 事。針對是態度， 開口嫌少，真系可以用無家教三個字形容。

I don't get it, what happen after "they" ask how much you want to tip?  They add that into your bill?

老实讲啊，边Q个讲鬼佬给tips 给得多的？ 大把鬼佬唔给添啦，10% 都没啦。 问人开口拿tips 本身就是一种唔给面客人的无礼貌行为。

好彩当时系请熟人朋友吃饭，一于坚持唔给多，象征式给多她一鸡，睇下边个样衰

条台湾婆（怡园就得一条台湾婆）企左一下，我就系唔给，然后她就讲“哎算了” 走人，多谢都没句。

In some states, minimum wage for waiters is about half of the normal.  That's why people will tips 20%.   And the IRS will tax waiters assuming they received 20% tips on their tax returns.

If you don't tips enough,  waiters basically have to pay you to eat at their restaurant.

But, in Vancouver waiters are not paid $3/hr, like some americans waiters.
