Nowadays, why would anyone want to give out money on the street. I've already donated at the Canadian Redcross website, really easy, just a few clicks and input some info and you're done. You can also choose other disasters like Myanmar Typhoon.
I think the manager at the restaurant made a bad mistake letting people bother customers.
I went to Aberdeen centre on sunday and its a zoo. there were 2 charity going at the same time at diferent location of the mall. One of em was Tzu Chi, low key and very polite. The other one I'm not sure what organization they belong to. they have 5 tables linked together with over 30 people. A set of big speakers and microphones. The management found them too loud and asked them to stop using them. They ignored that and started singing, later dancing. The emcee shouting "1 dollar! Just 1 dollar please! makes a big difference." Needless to say they attracted a crowd and its near the escalator as well so the traffic was backed up. The security guards had a hard time convincing them to play by the rules. |
