I have not bought any franchise one for quite awhile other than subway too.  We like to prepare food on our own and only go out to a restaurant once per week to try different things.

ohhhh... never ate there because I do not drink coffee.  Went to Starbucks couple of times only to chat things; Bought bottle of water there. Their food is bad too?

Soft drink has a 1200% markup?  Really?  So for a $1.8 drink, the cost is only $0.15?  I don't think so, the paper cup, lid, straw, labor, rent, electri ...

markup is strictly based on raw materials

labor, rent and utilities are expenses

I don't know about their food. I just don't like the way they sell coffee. It's more about branding and marketing than the coffee itself.

And they twisted machiato to a hung cup of syrup... so that ppl at real cafes have to explain to customers that it's not what they are serving.
Anyway, I am glad that my first cafe latte wasn't from Starbucks.

Good for you! I am trying hard to do that too.
You know a McD is just across from my office (i can actually see it from my desk... so sad) and it's about the only thing I can get within 5 min walking distance.
Yesterday I almost didn't eat lunch because that was my last option. So I brought sandwich with me today.

Making salad is not difficult especially there are those pre-cut vegetables in a box already.

is there any good recipe for salad dressing?  I used vinegar and olive oil and sometimes I used ranch.
