Traffic is chaotic in India (even in Mumbai) -- there is no doubt about that. But to discount the country's potential and pay them no heed is just plain stupid. Of course, the likes of you can only see Grandfather's strengths and greatness ga la~

And one thing is 泥黃色嘅水 is still far better than the multi-coloured polluted toxic water that are found in China's industrial cities, is it not?

There is no one here discounting the Indians. We are just saying what we can see in India. There are lots of slums in Mumbai, while Shanghai has the world largest subway system, and very efficient highway system. In Mumbai, there are still donkeys on the streets.
India claimed to be the world largest democracy, but it is just the world's poorest democracy. India's IT industry is just cheap outsourcing from the US, with nothing else to show for

China can now launch its own GPS satellites.
China uses its own CPU in its own supercomputer.
Chinese people use their own search engine Baidu.com, while IT power India has nothing to show for.
The Indian Commonwealth games is an embarrassing event, compared with Beijing Olympics and Guangzhou Asian Games.
Chinese people travel efficiently in their 8000 km highspeed railway system, while the Indians ride on unsafe trains.

So, why do you keep failing to see and rejecting China's potential while seeing others?
fy789 發表於 2010-12-27 00:15

Did I ever discount China's potential? If you could ever find anything like that, I would very much like to see it.

How do you know India doesn't have environmental pollution problems ?
...
Again, why singled out China ?

You'd be an idiot to not know that the Ganges is one of the dirtiest rivers in the world. But hey, I'm guessing you probably didn't know that. otherwise, you probably would have mentioned it. (So shouldn't you thank me for teaching you something new? )

India has one of the world's highest rates of rabies in the world. Also, public cleanliness and public health are major issues that needs to be addressed. On the streets (esp in the smaller cities), there are literally shxt everywhere on the ground because cows roam free.

If I were of Indian descent as opposed to Chinese descent, I would probably be as knowledgeable and vocal about the India's problems as I am about China's. If Canada's problems are one-tenth (or even one-hundredth) as serious as China's, I would be barking up the Canadian's government's a$$ as well.

Only morons like you would keep singing praises and making excuses for China's problems and failures.

PK,

If you have reading difficulties, you should really read my posts again. Yes, I said Mumbai is a world class city, and I stand by that comment. At the same time, I also said that India has a lot of problems. But India's problems are not necessarily Mumbai's (although Mumbai is certainly affect by some of them). Can you actually follow that logic here?

Also, do world class cities not have slumps? Have you ever been to New York? For all of Manhattan's glory, do you know what or where Harlem is? Mumbai has parts that are as lavish and upscale as the best of what Hollywood can offer. At the same time, it also has its own share of domestic problems. Being a world class city and having poor neighbourhoods are not mutually exclusive. But I suppose you are just too plain stupid to be able to grasp that concept.
