Whether the response is a result of nature or nurture, I don't think it really matters all that much. At the end of the day, what has been done is the most important. And those 18 persons have failed the real life humanity test.

Had the situation been less dire, I would have been more forgiving. But in this case, 悅悅 was a young kid covered in blood and obviously in great pain. If this happened in a war zone, where there is the 100% real danger of getting yourself killed by inspecting and helping the kid, I can understand the passer bys' reluctance, and I don't know if I could muster up the courage myself to help her (I probably can't). But this isn't a war zone. Their lives would not be at risk or endangered if they help the poor little girl.

Under the CCP's rule, the Party has managed to successfully caused the average citizen to fear for their own well being over other people's, even in time of peace.

我有些是做了，有些沒有做。 沒有做是因為我害怕被發現和之後的後果（因為覺得被發現的機會比較高）而不是因為良心。害怕戰勝了欲望所以才沒有行動。（想不到一個６歲小孩就可以那麼複雜吧）。

我相信有良心，但也有惡心。 如果不引導，惡心就會占上風。

大賊也好,黑社會大佬也好, 殺人放火,壞人之也,有沒有「良心」? 當遇上小悅悅事件,「良心」一樣會跑出來相救,是自然的!

但這18個途人,見死不救,還多多解釋,人中之渣!
今天小悅悅死了, 這18個人如何?   如果「良心」還未冰封, 會在他們體內發功, 包保一生不安! 如果「良心」已冰封, 他們就等天收!

我在某些方面是認同阿力的說法的。在一個價值觀扭曲的環境中，良心往往被磨滅或掩埋。

但我相信那１８個人在他們心中是有良心的。他們會被自己的良心譴責特別是當他們面對自己的小孩的時候。
