Good to know that they are consistant with their quality during DOV.
L'abattoir is currently my favorite restaurant.

I tried out Bridges on Granville Island last Friday.

It was a 38 dollar menu that consist of four courses with 2~3 choices for all.
Quality was marginal acceptable while service was lacking.
I know we have 8 people but I still don't think that a 4 course menu needs 120 minutes to serve. Definitely not worth the $38 dollar.

I used to be a dine out fans few years ago but didn't do much recent years... because of disappointment.

This year I went to two places:
I went to Diva.   So so.   Appit is puffed Fio Gras .   Well. it is a fun dish with special technique but tasteless.  Soup is well thought:  a creamy soup balanced with pear cube. Nicely done.   Others,.. so so.. really so so.

I went to The Shore Club.  The lobster bisque is ok.  not as good as C (used to be), but smooth.  Crab Cake is good.  My friend had the pork short rib. just ok.

I have salmon for both restaurants.   I think Diva has a better sauce but Shore Club has a better Salmon.

my comment for both restaurants is.. Good but not exceptional.   Worth the money back?  Hmm Shore Club worths b it more than Diva.

I think because there are so many good food in Vancouver (We are lucky people ).  So, for dine out, these restaurants should think about not just bring good food, or worth-the-money food, or some even downgrade food for the dineout price.  THey should see this as an opportunity to advertise their chef.  They should do something exceptional.
