These people tend to go to Skytrain stations. What would happened when the Aberdeen station opens? They would go to Richmond as well.

it's gonna be so "mix" there... more things are gonna happen.

I agree...where skytrain goes crime goes with it.  We really need a better paying system than the ungated honest system...

Metro was always known for being dangerous, especially at night.  It's better to travel with a group of friends.

there are rude/uneducated people all over the world.
most of ppl I know are polite and educated.

no one force you to go to victoria park when wei yuen ah bak are there.

- Sales people in malls who constantly get in your face even though you've politely rejected w/e they're trying to offer you

which malls? Those "sales" who get into your face are mainly credit card promoter and internet service promoter. no big deal and they would not hurt you.

- bums ganging up on people on streets

which streets? I seldom see that.

- once night rolls around, gangs roam the streets

why don't you stay at home at night? are you one of the gangs?

- teenagers committing suicide when their hearts get broken...(u dont tend to hear that happening here in North America as much...)

not only teenagers, many adults committing suicide too. ppl in North America won't do that because they choose to kill others instead of killing himself.

this is true. never pull out your money, just do it when there is a transaction.

i respect ur opinion, and as i mentioned, it's more of a "gwoon deem yu gok dou"

to be completely honest, HK is a great place for vacation, and maybe i havent exactly lived there for a long period of time, so my knowledge of HK is strictly from a tourist point of view. i think i consider HK a less friendly place compared to Van because of the way people act. and for me personally, when my surrounding's not "friendly", it seems to pose a threat. hence my opinion of HK being unsafe caused from the unfriendliness of the people.

i've practically lived my entire life in Van, so it's home to me. maybe i just feel safer at home no matter what happens, so my opinion IS quite bias, i'll admit to that
