actually... my mom did that to our driveway long time ago.....
still remember the scene when we try to figure out how to open the lock of our frozen gate. and she came running out of the garage with a bucket of hot water..... we all said "NNNOOO!!!!" and it's too late, she pour it over the lock and our own driveway. -> more ice to break.
so 1 important thing, if you don't know... ask...

well, its not about stupid or not, its about the matter of living in a new environment (assuming that uncle is a newbie to vancouver)

we all have/ had/ will have chance to live/work in new environment, right? what if the people who lived/worked in that place being mean to you, the new comer. What would u feel? now if someone has warned him already and explained why he shouldn't do that and he still do it, I won't pity him even he got beaten

lemme give u an example, we live in van, the weather is good, the humidity inside our home is not high normally and we can leave our food without putting it to fridge or cover with plastic paper on our dining table for a whole day. ok, everything is fine, but imagine a CBC or someone who grow up in canada move to hk to live and do the same thing to his food in hk, first of all, the food will likely to be rotten, secondly, the ants and cockroaches will THANK YOU for a great meal

Knowledge?
come on, man, besides from text books, knowledge is also required to get from experiences

你唔好講呢一批人初黎報到唔識，連有d 明顯地o係本地生活左一段長時間既本地華人/白人之類都可以做野唔經大腦。事關我間唔中都有客o係呢d 時候問我點解唔幫佢洗車，我解釋左佢一係大惑不解咁既樣，一係就俾副死人口臉我睇，講真就算我幫你拖乾晒水都難保你部車d 窿喇入面有水剩低令你開唔到門，到時呢班人又有得賴我點點點唔好。

更加唔好講果d 一地冰都仲o係度懶有型踩單車踩到左搖右擺既鬼佬，真係想死唔好累人！

呢個就係point 嘞, 若果條死蠢自已揾條柱撞埋去, 唔好累街坊. 咁佢點無知都係佢自己嘅問題.

只係覺得唔好講佢識唔識英文o係邊度黎，有冇讀過書，我相信佢屋企都有個雪櫃，知道水係會變冰，冇咩理由原始人到咁。

或者唔應該用賤黎形容，只係十分之唔make sense.......
