So you and I both don't know them, and you and I both don't know much about curling.  We are even. (if not, tell us how much you know about curling)  You don't have to side track your line so far to push your rank in an argument, while you aren't.  LOL.

From my spectator perspective and what I read the coach said in the news, I'm upset with the team (if that's true, once again).  I agree they did a good job to score bronze.

I'm not here to convince you to think as I'm.  I'm here to said what I feel.  Easy.

IMO the coach is a poor leader and unprofessional.

he has all his rights to be mad about the team.  (granted i'm not defending the team).  but as a leader and a coach, he should rant AFTER the game. He should be presenting an united front, at least until the game is over.  His ranting to the media will only damage the communication (which he already mentioned as a problem) and ultimately affecting the morale.

Those comments made by the coach a few days ago were controversial according to the media. But you are taking those comments as the whole truth.

okay now, why don't you try to read the coaches comment after they won the bronze medal?
The coach said he is satisfied with the performance of the team and that they did their best.

They are so emotional about the win.

I don't see how controversial in what the coach said.  The major complain from the coach is the team instable performance and their lack of passion (said by the coach).

Their game against Canada is so good and even the coach said nobody could defect this team if they keep that performance.  He made the complain after the Rassian game because the team's performance was so low.  Now, on this bronze medal game, the team bounce back.  It just proved what the coach said is correct about their instability.

The coach now said he satisfied with the performance in bronze medal, however, how's that related to the team's passion?

This team has a long way to growth, and I do hope they improve in all aspect and regain their passion about the sport.

It is the western media that said those comments were controversial.

From their reaction after they won the bronze medal, they were so passionate about the game. who cares what you think?
The coach said he is satisfied with the team and his comments were unfounded.

The Chinese play was very stable. They lost to Sweden in the semi, but Canada also lost to the Swedes in the final. Are the Canadians not stable?  The Sweden went on to win the gold. This is the Swedes year.
China was the third place team during the round-robin. If they are not stable, how about all the lower ranking teams?

Haha..  discussion with Peter is always lengthy because you never read carefully.  LOL.

Please read what I wrote with your glasses: "He made the complain after the Rassian game because the team's performance was so low."

Please quote me the news about the controversial part if you don't mind.  Thx.  I don't whole heartly trust western news or Chinese news and neither do you.  So why this time, western media said something and you quote it and trust it so much.

Yes, nobody should and nobody would care much about what I said.  Maybe you're the exception since you keep replying.

Have a nice weekend.

hahaha, of course I can quote you the news where the western media though those comments created a controversy.

Just look at how they reacted after they won the bronze medal. This proves clearly that they are passionate about the game.

It is the Canadian team that was unstable. They are the first rank team in the world, but they lost to China, and then lost to the Swedes for the gold. Where is their passion?

China has its first Olympic medal in curling.

Defending world champion Wang Bingyu stole four in the eighth and final end to register a 12-6 win over Mirjam Ott of Switzerland in Friday's women's bronze medal game.

China opened with three in the first end and held the lead for most of the game. They stretched their lead to 5-1 with a deuce in the third frame and China had all the momentum.

But Switzerland answered back with three of their own in the next end to close the gap to 5-4.

Switzerland eventually fought back to tie the game at 6-6 in the sixth end but a deuce in the following frame put the Chinese back in front.

In the eighth end, Ott missed a take-out with her first shot, leaving a difficult draw against four on her last shot. When that draw came up light, the Chinese stole four and the Swiss decided to shake hands.

China's Canadian coach Dan Rafael, who sparked some controversy earlier in the tournament with derogatory comments about his own team, was happy with the rink's efforts on Friday.

"I just waited all week for them to show up and they did today. They did everything we told them to do and more," said Dan Rafael. "That's why I'm emotional. It's been two-and-a-half years, what can I say?"

It is the first time in three Olympic appearances that Ott has not earned a medal, having won silver medals in both Salt Lake City and Turin.

"We really had to fight back. We made a big mistake in the first and allowed three against us," said Ott. "China played well from the start. They had a few misses in between but they fought back.

It's hard. Every athlete wants to win a medal and at this moment, we're disappointed."

Later, Canada's Cheryl Bernard takes on defending Olympic champion Anette Norberg in the gold medal final. You can watch the game live on CTV and CTVOlympics.ca at 6pm et/3pm pt.

People always can get emotional after their win but you can always see how they would react when they lost.  Did Canadian laugh after their loss?  We do not have to believe the media but you can always watch the recorded video and see if Chinese team members did still chat happily when they were losing.

Let's say it's not Chinese team but another country team, and they did still chat happily, Peter, are you still going to defend them?

I made this point, not because they are Chinese team or their coach is Canadian.  Just simply an Olympics national team do not treat the game seriously.

Maybe after the loss, those team members got a lecture from the coach or other people and changed their attitude and thus they won the medals.  No one really knows.  Maybe someone will post a video after the Olympics are gone, and we will know the truth.

Just wondering, if the team is not Chinese team, would you still defend it like you do now?

Just wondering, if the team is not Chinese, would you bash them again and again for no reason like this? There are always bashers like you who are itching to bash the Chinese whenever possible.
If they didn't take it seriously, how could they win? It is not easy to get any medals.
