Note that the statement where the parents merely tried to tell the kid to go home and the kid refused, etc is just the parents' side of the story. It shouldn't be taken as the complete truth.

Regardless, as an adult, a kid died because of whatever you did at your place. Whether it is justifyable or not, definately responsible more or less. I agree with Lik on that most likely, something really nasty is said by the parents. They probably didn't expect the kid to jump, probably tried to shame the kid rock-bottom to the point that he'll break-up with their daughter. But they just went too far it seems...

豪宅 doesn't mean the building have to be very nice. real estate is always about location.

Again, yes, many nice house in HK, many super nice car, 1000 Ferrari in HK ...  but don't forget, there are ~ 8million people there .. how many of them live in $15M+ home? even just 5%, we are talking ~ 400,000 people .. which is a lots .. but still, very small %

Also, Hongers live in Vancouver, are the upper class from HK ...
