i'm not thinking of trying to dispute the violation. cuz okay.. i WAS over the speed limit. i'm just wondering if it's worth it to dispute the ticket to ask for a fine reduction =p i AM a student still and working part time.
even if the cop doesn't show up, i don't think i can say to the judge "i was not speeding". i don't really want to lie =\ i really just want to see if i can pay less ja..
and just the thought of going to court makes me really nervous already..

In this case you just plead guilty and talk nicely that you are student and
do not come up with the penalty , usually the judge will extend the due date
by 6-12 month, or reduce fine if you are willing to pay sooner.

AFAIK, cops gets paid 1.5 to go to court, and all the traffic dispute hearing are scheduled in a group for them so they most likely will appear. I know ancient times ago cops usually don't appear but AFAIK nowadays, that's simply not the case.

If you think wasting your day is worth fighting for maybe $50 worth of fine reduction, then go for it. Otherwise might as well pay it and forget about it so you won't get bugged by it anymore.

I realize Cops are actively handing tickets at the end of the month end.  As purpleheart said, your cop most likely hasn't hit his quota, so he has to issue tickets even at the beginning of the month.  Poor girl.  Take it easy.

I would go for dispute.  As everyone said, take a chance that the cop will not show up.
