If you are so much in concern of earthquake and radiation, feel free to move out of BC and find a place free of nuclear plant and non earthquake zone.

As living in BC, stocking food or supplies in preparation of earthquake is always recommended. But for the sake of this Japanese incident, I would say no and that's my 0.0002 cent. Yes I do worry about my family in Hong Kong but I doubt what I can do for them now.

before they will happen.

as a java programmer, i do it by
try {
// do something that could potentially dangerous
} catch (Throwable t) {
// do something to handle the worst scenario
} finally {
// do something here regardless what had happened
}

I'm afraid of radio active pollution too but I'm not in concern as I'm in BC. There is nothing I can do unless I ran away.
