I think it's not that the teachers make too much.  It's that the rest of the population makes too little. But then if your skills (if there's any) are not valued, then you can't really ask people to pay you more.

Just want you to know 2x income is not a common thing until 80's.  Matter of fact, Stay-at-home moms don't want to stay home if the math makes sense.  After paying an additional car,  childcare,  women are working for peanuts.

Good childcare is $1200/mo if you can find one.

Math/Science/Reading are all top 10.  Used to be No. 2.  Our kids are doing fine when you see how often they study.

I can understand you hate the Teachers' Union, but our public schools are doing alright.  Just look south of boarder, if your kids are in public schools, you are a loser.
