my ideal wedding cake is a giant one, which means it has to be tall and big hahaha.. and i really don't know how it will happen except the poles lol

there was a pretty one.. with around 6 or 7 layers.. but 7 is not a good number... oh well hv to really think abt it!

7 is not a good number in chinese ah.. since u wont order 7 dishes too la right? 6 layers are good enough la..besides..u have to save more $$ for ur wedding la..u will need to spend a lot at the end..and ppl wont eat up all ur cake...dun waste too much $$ on cake la~

i agree.....don't have to spend too much on the cake if u are having a chinese banquet....coz they won't serve the cake until the very end...so most ppl just take a small bite and leave the rest on the table....it's sorta a waste of food...

get one that is fake at the bottom and only the top 2 layers are real cake kind of cake... make it taller to look good in pictures, and not wasting so much food... (there's cake like that right?)

I guess it's kinda hard for you to find the match fake bottom for your real cake LoL~ I believe most of the wedding cake that serve at the end of the banquet will never finish gar... coz most of your guests are pretty full at the end..unless those main dishes tastes BAD~ * of coz you can still buy a larger cake just for photo taking purpose and dun mind about the wastage..it's all up to you gei..coz it's ur own wedding =D ~* I choose a small one..coz dun want the wastage..and saved $90 haha.. i am so broke lately..

ya. I am pretty sure if u go for fondant cake, they can make styrofoam tiers covered with fondant, then u can't tell that layer is fake at all because the real cake tiers are also covered by fondant anyway. That way you can have more tiers without adding much costs.

I got my cake at Kam More Fong and there was no poles in between.  It was really beautiful and the boss woman lent me a silver cake tray.  The cost of the cake is not the cheapest though....  I know I could have gotten it cheaper else where but cake is about craftmanship and the design of the cake was really nice.   I bought the flowers and they put it on for free for me.
