    Yeah you would need data plan to get those "smart phone". But you can sign up the data plan and then cancel it later on...it will come with an early cancellation fee but it could be still better than buy out w/ full price.

Say, you don't need a phone as I have my own smartphone, and I am not considering adding data unless the price is right.

Data is still the most profitable option in North America.

Just wondering... my contract with Fido has already expired (no data, only voice). Is it possible to get a cheap plan if I want voice and data plan but I don't want contract? I believe that all they (the carriers) want from you is a contract.

I already have an iphone. I don't talk that much during daytime. don't really need data but nice to have.

Any suggestions or comments? Thanks.

The Promo Flex Plan works like this. Not the cheapest in the world, but a lil better than $30 for 6GB if you don't exceed 1GB, and better than their $25 for 500MB plan, or their $10 for 100MB, $5/100MB afterwards plan.

$10 for 0-100 mb
$15 for 100-150mb
$20 for 150-500mb
$25 for 500-1024mb

PS. I don't pay for my phone bill. It's company paid.

Oh, and forgot to add, i was able to negoatiate for the above plan out of contract, and without signing a contract.

I think the lowest voice plan with options are like 28 after tax. (retention)

x2. Go speak to English Customer Service. Either say you wanna cancel and speak to retention, or say you just want a deal. I called in saying I am looking to add data, but pay a lil less on my voice plan, and they just re-directed me to the right people~
