We are proud that the Chinese has mastered the technology of deep water submersible vehicle. There are only a few countries that can do this. This vehicle can submerge to the deepest oceans. Clearly, there are economic, scientific and political implications.

We are proud of the Chinese J20 stealth fighter. With this new fighter and DF31 missiles the Chinese can more easily protect its economic success from the invasion of western powers. This is not the Ching dynasty anymore.

btw, 其實我到而家都唔明一個國家做左既野, 一個人民仲乜鬼要去自豪?

How should a Canadian Chinese be proud of being a Chinese?  What are we good at?  What could we have done better, individually and as a race?

First of all, we are a Canadian or Canada citizen. Multiculturalism is an indispensable cornerstone of Canadian culture and value which Canada is built on. Canada respects and encourages individuals to be proud of their own ethnic root and carry forward the culture. A true Canadian will respect and be proud of his or her own ethnic root and culture.

Second, there are reasons in every perspective that a Chinese certainly can be proud of being a Chinese. For the sakes of some people having trouble with understanding English, I will write in Chinese for this part.

從歷史角度，中國是四大文明古國之一。中國曾是世界上最發達和強盛的國家。更重要的是，中國是人類歷史上唯一大國能夠從分裂中重新統一並保持自己的文明和疆土。從近代上講，中國在被外國列強侵略欺辱上百年後重新站立起來並在世界的經濟政治舞台上扮演越來越重要的角色。

從文化角度，中國文化源遠流長，其發展遠在許多文明之前。並對許多亞洲國家的文化的形成和發展有深遠的影響。從近代上講，其他國家越來越願意接受和學習中國的文化。與經濟政治的影響力同步，中國文化也在逐漸影響世界。

從科技角度，中國曾是在科技、數學、哲學和醫學上最發達的國家。中國的四大發明對人類文明的發展有深遠的影響。從近代上講，中國的科技發展曾停頓很長一段時間。然而，中國在外國實施技術封鎖的條件下依靠自己的能力在科技上取得了令世界敬佩的進展 （Ｐｅｔｅｒ已經向大家展示了很多這方面的信息）。

從經濟角度，中國以快美國幾倍的速度發展。從一個經濟非常落後的國家變成一個對世界經濟有舉足輕重的國家。而這些成就是在短短幾十年的時間建立起來的。中國也是世界上使最多人最快脫離貧困生活線的國家。這方面的成績，沒有任何一個國家可以與中國相比。

因為中國的實力和影響力的增強，海外華人的地位也隨著得到提高。這是不爭的事實。

每個國家和民族都會有經歷低潮的時期，而中國也是處在重建和復興的階段包括經濟和文明。我們每個華人不需要妄自菲薄，中國會進步而我們每個人可以從自身做起從身處加拿大做起。我們可以為提高中國人的文明素質盡分力。我們可以勸告我們的長輩，鼓勵自己的朋友和教導自己的孩子。
   
Last, I am a proud Chinese and that makes me a proud Canadian. Canada is made of citizens with their proud ethnic roots and cultures.

不會像那些人“學了胡兒語﹐趴上牆頭罵漢人”﹐假鬼佬﹐乞我憎。。。。

反倒兩邊不是人呢。。。

你以為自己是加拿大人﹐對不起﹐加拿大當你是外族異族。。。

你以身為中國人為恥﹖對不起﹐你生就黃皮膚黑頭髮﹐就算學米高全身皮膚換了﹐你終歸還是黃種人,too bad....

這樣的人﹐大概會心理不平衡吧﹖
