Hong Kong's quality of social services is among the best in the world. You can claim that Canada's level is higher, but at what cost? The government here is in debt at all levels. In HK, the max tax rate is about 15%, but only the highest income earners pay that rate. Most people pay less than 10%, if at all. Here, the HST is already 12% and that is on your after tax disposable income.

自由黨用心良苦.......

甘願背負眾人責罵，公報加稅，就係想大家係明年7月前盡快「有得食就食，有得著就著」，不論生人死地，都將會加稅。

咁即係叫大家7月之前， 增加消費，推動經濟。有樓買樓，有山地買山地。至少到2010年中，全球經濟復甦之前靠本土消費渡過難關。

明年7月，明年再講，到時將必定一番新境像。

For the time being, it doesn't matter whether it's NDP or not, the main goal is to get Liberals to reconsider.  Signing this petition doesn't mean you agree with NDP's politics.  The most powerful group right now is probably the NDP since they're the opposition and this is in their interest.
