    Probably because HK doesn't have indoor heating so it is cold all the time. Here, we have indoor heating so it helps a lot.

Also, HK is more humid than Vancouver, which makes it 'feel' more cold. Wet cold is worse than dry cold.

I actually think Canadian starting point is much higher than HK. If you happen to become a big gun in HK, along with the tax difference, you probably make more in HK. That said, the odd of someone making it super big in HK is low. Someone making an odd 6 figure or 2 here is much higher.

Totally agree with the night life comment, especially if you are sticking to the Asian scene. Out of the University crowd, it's completely non-existent. Maybe need some help from Big C Sister on this one.

Extremely cheap stuff is cheaper in HK. Once you get something of moderate quality, the value goes down very quickly. If you go high-end of anything in HK, it quickly costs an arm and a leg. One can enjoy mid/high-end living in North America in a much more affordable fashion than one can in HK. This applies to eateries, shopping and accomodations. Especially true if you are spending CAD in the US.

A typical HKer doesn't understand, or have forgotten, what cold really feels like, that's why.

It is true that HK doesn't have much heating. But 11 degrees C does not constitute a cold weather warning. We have some homeless weed smokers out in our DT streets surviving thru sub-zero temperatures. Some are probably too stoned to get their asses into a shelter~

呢到最低工資都多過香港啦. 我指如果同一個職位(唔係大粒個D), 係到既人工會比香港高, 當然D人只係睇稅後既人工

番嚟香港4年幾，坦白講，我認同上面好多人所講，香港變咗做一個唔適合我哋住慣加拿大嘅人嘅城市
無論係社會氣氛，對人對事嘅標準，好多嘅嘢響度轉變緊，衝突緊
原因係咩，我諗唔需要我再多講

唔講社會，講貼身d
住屋價格自08年開始發咗癲
如果無屋企響香港的話，你預計最少成8000蚊租屋先可以避免到住板間房嘅命運
一餐中午，由08年嘅30蚊左右（港島），而家升到40甚至50蚊
過去一個30蚊有交易嘅大家樂，而家都要40

至於人工，可能我唔夠某d人勁啦，但大部分我認識番嚟香港工作嘅朋友
過去4年加薪絕對唔會多過3000蚊
一般剛畢業回流嘅人，就算英文好，最多都係12000-14000入職
（本地嘅可能一萬都無！）
一個manager大概18000-22000
香港嘅中小企肯俾嘅人工好難突破三萬左右關口
但工時方面中小企係奉行 “一星期番5日半，其餘日半就standby” 嘅制度
HR係會按上班時間mark鐘，但OT就無補水
你OT到凌晨三點的話，恭喜你，去廁所洗個面好準備繼續返工
否則HR話你遲到無到，OT埋都唔夠俾佢扣錢

大部分打工仔都會係：“度度都係咁架啦，做啦～” 嘅態度

至於做老闆，同樣困難
客戶挑剔，依然用緊SARS時候嘅價錢壓你
共渡時艱之後寵壞咗嘅客已經將當年一時嘅遷就當係老奉
好多行業都因為當時做壞手勢而家回唔到頭
對外，港元越嚟越唔值錢
過分依賴大陸，樣樣嘢都要因為大陸而讓路
做老闆唔等於你可以好似以前d大班咁風光
