I have tried bbt that tasted like drinking powder water, omg...
pearl, not too soft, not too hard, needs to be just right....
I like a brighter environment for bbt

I think drinks are the most important and service is relatively least important (but doesn't mean not important)
I have been to one bbt place on alexandra road that requires the least consumption to be $3.5. Ok, that's fine
so friend A ordered a drink and a snack
friend B ordered a drink
friend C wanted to share the drink with friend B
and the waiter told friend C "but we require everyone to spend at least $3.5 here"
to me, it was kind of rude/唔識變通 for the waiter to say that
since friend A is already ordering a drink (more than $3.5) and a snack (also more than $3.5)
so why can't we pretend the snack is ordered by friend C? isn't that more simple than telling customer to order more things?
out of curiosity, are you trying to open up your own bbt place?
priority for me would be the quality of food and drinks....pearls should be chewy, not too hard or too soft...i like a good variety of snacks (eg. fried fish tempura, takoyaki, taiwanese oyster pancake that sorta thing but not actual "meals' like noodles/rice)....my favourite drink is lavender green tea (cold) but i only know of one place that offers it...new drink creations are always welcome...
in terms of decor, i rank cleanliness (ie. hygiene) over ambience....but sometimes 眼不見為淨....i don't like it too dark, because my friends and i like to play crossword puzzles over bbt....
i really don't care if the servers are pretty...but i expect all the servers to be attentive...i hate it when the waitresses pretend that they don't see you -_-''
i think it would be nice if bbt places offered desserts....one place in kerrisdale does have some but the variety is so limited....

I was just asking because one of my guy friends suggest that all servers need to be pretty and wear sexy 制服.
I do not aggree with him, I was just asking out of curiosity
I think server should be friendly, knowledgeable, sincere and flexible.
