Anyone watching Paralympic opening?

are you watching the opening now?  or planning to watch the games?

I was at the opening tonight.

Pictures are poor quality...sit far away and only bring my point and shoot camera...

I just came back from the opening ceremony.  It was such a wonderful spectacle without any giant white bear, weird looking totem poles, or fancy performances.... it was purely a stage for the disadvantaged to showcase their skills and guts, and a platform for telling stories of some Canadian heroes to the world.  For the first time I witnessed hip hop dance performed by people that cannot walk.... they instead use clutches to make awesome moves (and spin with their heads just like a normal person).  In another performance, people on wheelchairs were flipping  on ramps along with skateboarders and BMX riders.  Richmond resident Rick Hansen did a short but wonderful speech, and the Terry Fox led-in to the lighting of the torch was emotional and done brilliantly.  Cheering, screaming, and waving with the pom pom were nonstop when the athletes entered the stadium, and it was deafening when the Canadian athletes entered and 50000 people screaming at the same time.  The audience was fully involved and utilized for the show..... had to get to BC place at 5 for "rehearsal" to learn the dance moves and sign language.  It was fun and all proud to be part of this memorable experience.

I was watching while I was at work. It was amazing. Lots of people went there (at least most of my friends got tickets to go watch it)!

I just watched it on TV for 5 mins and thought it was boring...no wonder the tickets were so much cheaper.
