機場限時速10公里 警察捉超速

【明報記者馮新報道】市民不時會駕車到溫哥華國際機場，但許多人卻不知道機場外的車速限制極低，部分地方時速限制低至10公里或20公里。有華裔司機稱時速限制僅10公里，比跑步快不了多少，基本上若有警員「恭候」，幾乎很難避免被捉超速；早前另有華裔市民則在機場門口時速限制20公里的斜坡上超速，收到警員發出的138元告票，為此在網上呼籲其他駕駛者留意機場的「低速區」，以防接機或送機時「中招」收告票。

一名華裔市民本月初駕車，送一名準備搭機離境的朋友前往溫哥華國際機場。當他駕車至樓上出境處時，剛駛上斜坡便被一名警員截停。他指當時該處有多名警員，不僅將他的汽車截停，還包括的士在內的多輛汽車也被截停。

警員向事主稱通往機場二樓出境處的斜坡，速度限制為每小時20公里，但該華裔市民卻以每小時40公里的速度衝上斜坡。該名警員指出，原本需要開350元的罰單，但該市民駕駛紀錄良好，才可獲得「打折」，僅發出罰款138元的告票。

該名吃了「牛肉乾」的市民對此感到驚訝，指自己並不知道機場門口的坡道竟有每小時20公里的限制。該名華裔市民於是將自己的經歷電郵寄給全體親友，呼籲大家前往機場時要格外留意。

該封郵件隨後更被轉至本地華裔網絡論壇，許多網友皆大感驚訝，稱不知道機場外有此低速限制，甚至有人抱怨時速20公里不合理。記者前往溫機場外查看，並未發現當眼處有限速告示牌。記者詢問機場外的警員後，才發現在接近國內航班出境大廳處，有一個每小時限速10公里的告示牌。警員也向記者透露，在登上坡道前還有另一個告示牌，不過許多司機皆「視若無睹」。

I saw the picture posted on Mingpao. That's 10km/h speed sign in yellow. I think the 20km/h is the real speed limit. But the yellow one is just a suggested speed so they can't give you a speeding ticket if you drive < 20km/h there.

I don't recall those 2 places are traffic "black spot". I wonder how many accidents happened in those 2 places annually? They might as well paint the road with the speed limit so we all can see.

It's so much easier to get $$ from the unaware.... just like Boundary southbound Marine Drive and Uphill northbound Knight Street Bridge.

They should change the sign. The speed is way too slow.
