VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - On a historic night at Rogers Arena, the Vancouver Canucks announced Henrik Sedin as the team's new captain. The big C was bestowed upon him right before the first game of the season.
Sedin chose Ryan Kesler, Daniel Sedin, Manny Malhotra and Kevin Bieksa to be his assistants.
This will be Henrik's tenth season with the Canucks. He is coming off his best season, having won both Hart and Art Ross Trophies.
Last season, Henrik Sedin surpassed former Canuck captain Trevor Linden for the Canucks' franchise record in assists with 434. He also passed Pavel Bure with the Canucks' franchise record for points in one season with 112.
