【明報專訊】不少女士都有名牌手袋傍身，名牌手袋售價動輒數千至數萬元，消費者多數會把手袋交專門店維修保養，保持手袋光潔亮麗。消委會    向35個皮具品牌公司或代理商查詢，獲其中8品牌回覆，大部分都表示在非認可零售店購買的貨品及部分特價貨品並無免費保養。

非認可店購買無保養

8個回覆的品牌包括：CELINE、FENDI、Hugo Boss、JOY&PEACE、KWANPEN、Mulberry、Staccato和Tod's，除KWANPEN表示基本不設免費保養和維修，消委會綜合各品牌回覆發現，各品牌一般會為顧客更換和維修金屬或皮製配件、修補襯裏、修補表面損耗、重新縫線，個別亦有擦拭護養及局部顏色修飾，但維修保養服務並非適用於所有皮具。

海外認可店購買多享保養

消委會提醒消費者，於品牌特賣場及非認可零售商購買的貨品，一般不能享用免費維修保養服務，某些品牌亦不會為特價貨或在海外認可零售店購買的貨品提供免費服務（見表）。一些品牌亦規定，消費者須出示專門店購物單據正本，才可享免費維修服務，若顧客曾自行把皮具交予非認可人士維修，即使貨品仍在免費維修保養期內亦不能享有服務。

消委會曾接獲有關皮革變色或脫色投訴，其中劉女士在2008年底以1萬元從專門店買了一個皮手袋，但用了幾次後，發現調校肩帶長短的配件皮革脫色，今年2月帶同手袋到專門店跟進。

職員指該手袋的配件皮革會出現脫色問題，可免費為她更換脫色皮革，劉女士指購買時職員未有說明，要求退回該手袋，最終可更換貨品。

I remembered my Mom (in Hong Kong) took her Prada bag back to the store for fixing (forgot what she needs to fix at that time) and the store is willing to fix for her. But it takes a few months!

Here in Van, one time my Swarovski crystal piece is falling apart, I bring it back to the store and they send it back to Toronto to fix it.

I guess all depends on the sales .. and the shop ..  somthing like scratch or colour fade, of course, not under warranty .. but if you are good repeat customer to some stores ...  they may walk extra mile for you gei ..

Say watches, local shop here, they do fix scratches for me, of course not under warranty, however, just to show they care about local business, so I know I can pay less from US or HK etc, I like to deal locally ..  ^_^   (unless the price gap is too big!)

But price gap between Canada vs other places for luxury handbag are quite big .. I guess if you buy a BV bag from HK, and need some service here, store here won't "so" you la...

Unless the bag falls apart within a week after purchase, otherwise i think it's silly to think they'll provide much after-care service (like repairs) after some time.

first of all, LUXURY goods are for people who CAN afford the protects without feeling guilty. If you're one of those people who uses a towel to place under the bag everytime you put it down and look for lifetime warrantee, then you probably shouldn't be buying these luxury products in the first place...

second of all, how can any company provide life-time warrantee? they need to make money some how and they expect people to buy new bags every season. i highly doubt they'll see you as a valued customer for buying one bag in 10 years....
