Queensborough-Highway 91/91A route changes route, changes

Looks like i have to re-route my daily trip from Rmd to SFU... does anyone know the best route to SFU?

As of Feb. 25th, they are to close off the existing entry to 20th St and 10 st (slope) which is my daily route to school, i am hoping for alternate route (s)(maybe from someone who's familiar with that area?)

i guess the positive side is no more 30 mins traffic jam on a 5 minute distance between 10th st. to Marine Way....

opinions are welcome

what about going through hwy 91, and then to 91a, that brings you onto the queensborough bridge.

cuz from what that page says
"Please note that this change does not affect traffic from the Queensborough Bridge, which will continue to be able to access both 20th Street and 6th Avenue directly."

it also says: Beginning Monday, February 25th, 2008 (new date), left-turn access to both 20th Street and 6th Avenue will be eliminated for eastbound Marine Way traffic that originates west of the Queensborough Interchange. This is a permanent change.

this is what they meant by not affecting... u only need to go to 20th st and 10 ave. thru the other way....by going thru Byrne Road to Southridge Drive and 10th Avenue.... that's by going westbound and THAN eastbound...it is like going in a big loop...

No no... you know? when you exit the bridge, you have to cut into the left lane to turn left, right? they are removing that lane so people from marine way can't turn left. but that does not affect people exiting the bridge from turning at 20th st. so you don't have to do a huge loop. but of course, if you want, you can still make a detour since i have no idea how the traffic will be during the construction.

I love how they have been improving that part of the highway though. after they made the bridge to bypass that light intersection on the south side of the bridge, traffic has been a lot smoother there. before, we have to stop at that stupid light and it sucked no matter if you are just trying to pass or trying to get into the highway from that intersection. hope whatever they are trying to do at this intersection would also improve it for the better.

i had to look at the map again... the map that says "existing" and the map that says "future" got me confused...

now re-reading the announcement several times over, i now understand that my original path is need no alternative route...

it's alright. when i saw it on the newspaper, i had to read it pretty carefully too. i always go on that route and i wanted to make sure they did not do some major changes that mess up my route as well.
