VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - We could see a spike in gang-related violence this weekend.
VPD says they will out in greater numbers, and will have more police officers patrolling PNE and Granville Entertainment District as a precautionary measure.
There is no word on what or who might have tipped off the police, but the warning comes a day after seven gangsters were arrested in a raid at a Vancouver park. BC's Gang Task Force has been on high alert and doing increased patrols since another gangster was shot and killed in his BMW SUV in a parking lot of Metrotown Mall earlier this month.
VPD will be holding a press conference later tonight. More details to come. |
