Just before 1 p.m., a father and daughter were walking down a wooded path when they stumbled across the remains.  Investigators can't say whether it's a man or a woman or how long the body had been there. Police believe they are likely dealing with a homicide.

Corporal Dale Carr with IHIT says they don't know what caused the death.  "There is some speculation that the death may have been caused by the fact that the body is charred. However, we don't know that yet, and we won't know that until we get to autopsy."

Police believe the remains were burned in the park in the last day or two and are now looking to talk to people who may have seen anything suspicious in the area.  They have cordoned off an area near Kenmore Drive and 93A Avenue and will be doing a thorough ground search on Sunday.
