VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - It was announced in an effort to prop up Gordon Campbell's plummeting approval numbers, but now the Premier's promised 15 per cent income tax cut is being taken off the table. News1130 hit the street to find out your thoughts on this latest move.

Anger over a broken promise may be obvious; the apathy could perhaps be expected. But one man says the tax cut was irresponsible to begin with. He says it's hard to have any respect for a leader so desperate to boost his rating. "[It was] an illogical thing to do... the health service is needed, the child poverty in this province is ridiculous, and the minimum wage is being held back."

Among the people we spoke to, it seems the decision to suspend the premier's per cent tax cut is killing faith in politicians, governments, and even the system.

One man says, "It's typical politics... I don't feel sad about it, I just think it's typical; they don't follow through on anything that they say. They're always just giving us a load of crap all the time."

Others tell us that last ditch try by a premier to boost his rating by finally giving something back reeked of desperation from the start. The Liberal government says the cut wouldn't be a fair burden for the next premier. In its next first full year, your 15 per cent savings would have cost the government $560 million in revenue
