RCMP say two children, both under ten, appear to be in serious but stable condition after a three-vehicle crash at 192nd and 24th Avenue at around 7:00 pm this evening.

It's believed a semi-truck, SUV and a station wagon all entered the intersection at the same time.

RCMP confirm the traffic lights were not working, and it was raining heavily at the time.

When emergency crews arrived, one of the kids was said to be trapped underneath the car, the other unconscious in the car.

A child was airlifted to hospital and the other was taken away in an ambulance.

Injuries to people in the other vehicles are said to be minor.

Investigators are expected to be at the scene for several more hours.
